Prior to joining Stone Hilton, Anthony served as Deputy General Counsel for Governor Greg Abbott, where he managed all litigation involving the Governor and led various Texas Agencies through complex litigation. Anthony also served as an Assistant United States Attorney, prosecuting criminal organizations, national security crimes, and logging countless hours in federal court. As Counsel to Senator Ted Cruz, Anthony managed critical portfolios, coordinated amicus efforts, and assisted with judicial nominations. Anthony returned to the Army in 2021 as a Judge Advocate, and the Army immediately selected him to join the team prosecuting Khalid Shaikh Mohammad and those responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

As Deputy General Counsel for Governor Abbott, Anthony participated in Texas’s litigation efforts after passing a new congressional map during the second called session of the 89th Legislature. Leading up to and during the inevitable ten-day redistricting injunction hearing, Anthony prepped witnesses, shaped strategy, and successfully co-authored an opposition to an emergency motion for reconsideration involving privilege. As an Assistant United States Attorney, Anthony argued countless motions, first-chaired jury trials, and argued before the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. One example of Anthony’s ability involves a time when he simultaneously prepared for trial and appeal and obtained a favorable jury verdict before catching a redeye to New Orleans and arguing before the Fifth Circuit the following morning.

After law school, Anthony was an inaugural law clerk for the Honorable Leon Schydlower in the Western District of Texas and clerked for the Honorable Otis Wright in the Central District of California.
