Before joining Stone Hilton, Carson clerked for Justice Scott K. Field of Texas’s Fifteenth Court of Appeals, a statewide court that hears cases involving state agencies and officials, constitutional challenges to Texas statutes, and appeals from the Texas Business Court. There, he helped draft opinions and prepare for oral arguments in Austin and across the State, learning to spot dispositive issues, weigh competing arguments, and write with precision and force.
In law school, Carson interned at two national plaintiff-side firms, where he helped litigate mass torts and class actions involving environmental contamination and defective products. He also interned at the Consumer Protection Division of the Texas Attorney General’s Office, participating in a Deceptive Trade Practices Act jury trial and developing claims in pharmaceutical litigation. He then studied abroad at the University of Nottingham School of Law in England, where he completed writing seminars on international and comparative law.
